Sarah Spector (nee Gibly) of Westfield, New Jersey, died on Thursday. She was 70.  Born in Jibla, Yemen to Rachel and Shlomo Gibly, Sarah grew up in Pardes Hannah, Israel.  She lived and worked in Nehariya and Jerusalem and served in the Israeli army before moving to the US in 1969, where she lived and worked in Texas, Philadelphia, and New York. In 1978 she married her beloved husband Joseph and started a family. She held a B.A. in education and worked as a teacher and artist in Israel, where she helped found and develop the Jerusalem artist community Yemin Moshe. In the U.S. she worked as a sculptor, painter, printmaker, and jewelry designer. She was a devoted and extraordinary mother, wife, sister, and friend. Sarah is survived by her husband Joseph Spector; her son Eric, and her two daughters, Karen and Leor, all of Los Angeles; her brother Hagay Gibly of Jaffa-Tel Aviv; and her 6 sisters, Yael Azaria of Tel Aviv; Avital Gibly of Tel Aviv; Tamar Gibley Jex of Williamsburg, Brooklyn; Merri Hepner of Tel Aviv; Batsheva Sebban of Rishon Litziyon; and Zilpa Valdman of Pardes Hannah.
