Murray Gordon Blum on Thursday, February 21, 2013.  Beloved husband of the late Diana (nee Myers).  Devoted father to children  Robert (and his wife, Eileen) Blum of Union, N.J. and Janice L. Blum-Prefer (and her husband Alan Prefer) of Ft. Lee, N.J.,  A sister, Claire Goldberg, grandchildren David Blum and Jennifer Oddo and 4 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brianna, Alana, and Daveian.  He is also survived by his loving partner of 30 years, Anita Goldstein, and Anita’s extended family to whom he was known lovingly as “Uncle Murray” to her children, Danny, Greg and Ellen and grandchildren Carley, Eric, Adam, Corey and Mollie. Born in Newark, N.J. he lived in Hillside before moving to Springfield, N.J. in 1958.  He was a graduate of Westside High School in Newark.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman first class and received the American Theater Medal, the Victory Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal.  He was the owner of Empire Ticket Service which was located in Newark for 35 years and then Springfield for 15 years.  He retired only 2 years ago.
