Milton Peskin on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 of Whippany.  Born in Newark, N.J. he lived in Millburn for many years before moving to West Orange and then Whippany 4 years ago.  He earned a B.S. in accounting from Rutgers University’s Queens College in New Brunswick and an M.B.A. from New York University.  As a young man he was active in one of the Newark Chapters of the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) of the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.  A World War II veteran he had served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator in the Rhineland and Central Europe and received the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American And EAME Theater Ribbons.  He was the co-owner of S.Peskin and Company, a hardware and appliance store in Newark for over 50 years retiring in 2008.  He was also an accountant.  He was the beloved husband of the late Anne (nee Zaker) to whom he was married for over 60 years.  He is survived by his son, Stanley Peskin of Roseland, his daughters, Elaine Weiss of Berkeley Heights and Sandra Peskin of Tigard Oregon, 5 grandchildren, Craig Peskin, Kevin Peskin, Jennifer Weiss Vassallo, Jennifer Finn, and Kara Peskin Fisher as well as 4 great-grandchildren; Lily Peskin, Benjamin Vassallo, Gabrielle Vassallo and Ella Peskin.
