Martin Karp
on Sunday, June 3, 2012 of Springfield. He was 91.  Beloved husband of Harriett (nee Kalison).  Devoted father of Susan Karp of Bedminister and the late Alan Karp.  Loving father-in-law of Dorie Karp.  Dear brother of Rona Snyder of Egg Harbor Township.  Adored grandfather of  Joshua Drew,  Robyn Drew and Michael Karp. 

He was a Certified Public Accountant in private  practice in Newark and later Elizabeth for over 60 years. 

He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1946 and saw action in India with U.S. Army logistics and intelligence  units.  Upon completion of his active service he transferred to the U.S. Army reserves and finally retired from military service in 1981 at the rank of Colonel. He was the recipient of the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Reserve Ribbon. 

He obtained a B.A. in accounting and an M.B.A. both from New York University, New York City.  He was an avid reader and was active in the Springfield Garden Club and the Retired Officers Association.  Arrangements were by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, N.J. 07081.

SHIVA:  will be observed at the family residence Tuesday, after the interment and Wednesday.
