Simon on Thursday, July 11, 2013 Arlene May (nee Krasnor) of Guttenberg, N.J.. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. she lived in Drexel Hill PA., Broomall, PA., Westfield, N.J. from 1964 until 1981 when she moved to Guttenberg, N.J..She graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in English at the age of 20 and from Columbia University In N.Y. City  with an M.Ed. one year later.  She had been a school teacher in the Westfield N.J. school system, the Assistant To The Director of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City from 1979 to 1991 and the Comptroller of American Corporate Services of New York City, a company owned by her husband, Sanford Simon; from 1992-2003.  She also held a real estate license and managed properties at The Galaxy Condominium Complex in Gutenberg, N.J. where she lived from 1982  to this year.  She was the past president of the following organizations: ORT in Broomall, PA., National Council of Jewish Women in Westfield, NJ, The Penn Club of Northern NJ, and the Galaxy Women’s Investment Club.  While in Westfield she was honored for her work for National Council of Jewish Women on behalf of disadvantaged  children at a luncheon at the While House hosted by Claudia “Lady Bird” Johnson.  She was also a certified scuba-diver.  She loved to dive with “Sandy,” her husband  of 57 years. She was also frequently seen in New York City attending theater, ballet and opera. She is survived by her husband Sanford Simon, her son Mike (Karen) Simon, her daughter Sharon Rebecca (Dr. Steve) Katz, and her brother Robert Krasnor as well as six grandchildren, Barry, Seth, Jason, Alison, Lisa and Bailey.  She is also survived by her beloved aide Miriam Osekre..

SHIVA:  The family will be sitting Shiva on Sunday at the family residence, 7002 Boulevard East, Tower 2, Unit 31E, Guttenberg, New Jersey 07093 and on Monday and Tuesday at the home of Mike and Karen Simon, 823 Nancy Way, Westfield, N.J. 07090.  Sharon Rebecca and Dr. Steve Katz will also be sitting Shiva at their home, 1002 Stratford Avenue, Melrose Park, PA. 19027 on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 beginning at 6:30 p.m..  There will be minyan services at their home at 7:30 p.m..
