Philip Baker passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2017 at home in Mountainside.  He was 93.  Funeral services will be held 11:30 am on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 at Ross’ Shalom Chapels, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, N.J..  Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J..  Born in Jeannette PA., he lived in Wildwood, NJ, Baltimore, MD., Bayonne, NJ., before moving to Springfield, NJ where he lived for 55 ½ years.  He moved to Warren, NJ last year and then to Mountainside, NJ this past year.  He earned a Bachelors degree in Journalism from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. and worked his entire career in newspaper advertising for many newspapers including the Star Ledger as its advertising manager.  His last work was for CBA Industries of Elmwood Park, NJ, producers of Sunday newspaper circular advertising.  He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Baker and is survived by his daughter, Jody Baker Goodman (Michael Rosenberg) of Florham Park, NJ, two grandsons, Jarrad (Meghan) Goodman of Christiansburg, VA., and Alex Goodman of Florham Park, NJ, a brother, Emanuel (Judith) Baker of LA., CA., and many nieces and nephews including Marcy (Daniel) Madden of West Orange, NJ.
