Shiva: Due to the Sukkot holiday, Shiva will begin on Saturday evening, October 18th and will continue through Monday evening,
October 20.  There will be minyanim at 8:00 p.m. each evening at the family residence, 17 Juniper Way, Springfield, N.J. 07081.

Margaret Matilda Barnes passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 9, 2014.  She was 89.  Born in Duisburg, Germany she met her future husband, Lee Barnes, there, and together they came to the U.S., first settling in New York City.  They later moved to Miami, Florida, where she attended the University of Miami.  Together they lived in Miami for a time and then moved to Connecticut, and then Queens, New York before finally settling in Springfield in 1964.  They opened a business together, Barnes Chevrolet in Summit, New Jersey and where, for over 25 years, she worked as the bookkeeper.  She is survived by her devoted son Robert Barnes of Springfield, N.J., and her loving daughter Linda Engstrom of Jacksonville, FL., as well as 2 grandchildren, Eric Engstrom and Crisbenia Barnes.  She is also survived by a brother Horst Schulte of Germany and a sister, Helga Laks of Miami, FL.
