Ruby Goodman (nee Leder) passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.  She was 80.  Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Jersey City, N.J., and Houston, Texas for 9 years before returning to Jersey City in 1987.  She received a BA in education from Jersey City State College (now New Jersey City University) and began her career as a substitute teacher in Jersey City.  She later worked in banking in Houston, Texas and then at the Hertz Corporation in New York City before taking a position as Assistant Director of Human Resources for the Archdiocese of Newark.  She worked for the Archdiocese for over 15 years before retiring 15 years ago.  She was a member of Congregation B’nai Jacob of Jersey City for many years and a member of CONTACT in Jersey City, a hotline service where she volunteered.  She was also an avid Mah Jongg player.  She is survived by her beloved sons, David (Edna) Goodman of Springfield, N.J. and Martin Goodman of Jersey City, N.J., her loving daughter, Lori Goodman of Manhattan, her dear sister Sandra LoGuidici of Port St. Lucie, Florida, three adored  grandchildren, Yael, Michael and Eitan, and 2 cherished great-grandchildren, Shai and Tal.
